Thank You to the St. Thomas Legion, Lord Elgin Branch #41!

Not only have they supported our Loading Dock Campaign, β€œ 1 of 300 β€œ but they have also made an amazing $5,000 donation to our Summer Top Up Program.

As summer approaches, children in our community should be focused on making memories, playing with friends, and enjoying their breakβ€”not worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Our Summer Top Up Program helps bridge that gap by providing families with:
🍎 5 breakfast items
πŸ₯ͺ 5 lunch items
πŸ₯• Fresh produce
🍞 Bread and bakery items Each week for 9 weeks throughout the summer.

🍎If you would like to support our Summer Top Up Program, donations can be dropped off in person at:
πŸ“ 24 John Street (Back Entrance)
Or sent by e-transfer to:
πŸ“§ [email protected]

🍎Together, we can ensure no child spends their summer with a hungry tummy.

β€œ When households struggle to afford basic needs like housing, food, and transportation, the impacts reach far beyond the grocery store. In Elgin, St. Thomas, and Oxford, rising living costs are affecting how people eat, manage stress, and care for their health.

Nearly 1 in 6 households in our region experiences food insecurity. These pressures increase the risk of chronic disease, affect mental well‑being, and make healthy choices harder to access.”

It truly was a beautiful day today! We’ve been patiently awaiting this day for a few weeks and are happy to report that the next big step towards the loading dock is well underway!

Today we received more than 30,000lbs of concrete. These forms are creating the solid foundation for our loading dock. Big thanks to Erie Concrete Forming for tackling this task and to our trusted project manager, Bob Barclay, for overseeing the day start to finish!

We are in great hands with this team and it’s amazing to see our community come together!

We aren’t only building a loading loading dock, we are also building great relationships with friends and supportive partners along the way! We are grateful!

Next up: North excavating and North Custom Homes. It takes a village!
