This Thanksgiving long weekend, Alberta RCMP participated in , a national road safety campaign focused on reducing injuries and fatalities on our roads.

During the enforcement period, officers issued:

🚨 1,861 traffic violation tickets
🚨 755 speeding tickets
🚨 32 distracted driving tickets
🚨 25 seatbelt infractions
🚨 87 Immediate Roadside Sanctions for impaired driving offences

Despite these enforcement efforts, there were 15 injury collisions and two fatal collisions. Tragically, two people lost their lives.

Whether you're heading across town or across the province, safe driving starts with you. Slow down, stay focused, wear your seatbelt and never drive impaired.

Let's work together to keep Alberta's roads safe. 💙

Low sun can make pedestrians, cyclists, traffic signals, and other vehicles harder to see, especially during morning and evening travel times.

When glare hits:
☀️ Slow down and leave extra space
🕶️ Use your visor or sunglasses
🧼 Keep the inside and outside of your windshield clean
🚶 Scan carefully for people at crosswalks and intersections
🚗 Be prepared to stop
