We know that strong family relationships are a key factor in building a healthy community so we strive to empower and equip families by partnering with other community resources and agencies to enhance and improve health and wellness, learning, and growth opportunities for children and families in our community. We aim to provide a place where any family can come to find help. We believe that community does not just happen, it is intentional. Steinbach Family Resource Centre is an intentional community family resource aimed at all families that reside in the South Eastman area because every family counts!

This week at preschool, we had an AMAZING time exploring pumpkins and creating our very own pumpkin volcano! Our little scientists scooped out pumpkins and experimented with dish soap, vinegar, and baking soda. And what happened next? A bubbly, fizzy PUMPKIN EXPLOSION! 🌋

But this wasn't just messy fun — it was a chance to learn through play!

🔬 The science behind the fun!
When baking soda and vinegar mix, they create a gas called carbon dioxide. This gas forms bubbles, and the dish soap helps trap those bubbles, creating a foamy eruption that spills out of our pumpkin!

🎃 What did we learn?
🍂 Explored the inside of a pumpkin using our senses.
🧪 Practised making predictions and observing what happened.
💡 Discovered how different ingredients react when mixed.
🤝 Built teamwork, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.

We love watching our preschoolers explore, ask questions, and make exciting discoveries together! Hands-on activities like these help build a love of learning while encouraging children to think like little scientists.

It’s here… tomorrow’s the big day! ✨📚

Everything is ready for a special day celebrating the joy of reading — and all that’s missing is YOU!
Join this national movement and help put reading at the heart of every child’s success. Every minute spent reading makes a difference! 📖✨

The Great Read-Along, created in collaboration with the Learning Disabilities Association of Manitoba and the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada, celebrates the joy of reading and supports young people who learn differently.

On October 22, families can participate by reading together, enjoying a comic or audiobook, visiting the library, or simply taking time to enjoy a book in whatever way works best for them.

The goal is to reach 6 million collective minutes of reading across Canada! Every minute counts!
