💙 Miigwech Lakehead University!
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Harvey Lemelin, the course instructor for OUTD 4411 – Advanced Interpretation, and his students to Manitou Mounds for a weekend sleepover!
The class spent the weekend getting to know the site, connecting with the land and culture, and getting ready to take on the exciting task of redesigning some of our signage and interpretation panels.
They kept busy while they were here — helping return sturgeon to the river, joining us for Cultural Day, and even braving the cold to camp overnight here at Manitou Mounds! 🐟🥁🏕️
We’re really excited to see what they come up with and are so grateful they took the time to come experience Manitou Mounds for themselves.

The wait is over! Today we’re gathering at Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre for a full day of culture, community, food, music and fun! 🪶

🍂 A little winter update from the Manitou Mounds Kitchen! 🍂
As we head into the winter months, we’ll be putting our regular menu away and switching things up with a Daily Special format! 🥘
That means our daily specials will be what’s available in the kitchen throughout the winter season, rather than our usual menu.
From Mounds Burgers and Chicken Caesar Wraps to Taco Fridays and weekend breakfast favourites, we’ll have something different cooking each day!
🥣 All specials include your choice of soup or fries as a side, with soup and bannock available every day.
