Nora & Mojo soaking up the grass time together. 🌱🍃💙. Black-and-white ruffed lemurs are actually one of the most critically endangered primates in the world, so every snuggle counts. 💕

Happy birthday to Njeri! She is 18 today. Njeri came to us from a zoo over a year ago where she was the last of her troop with no other monkeys for company. We are glad that we were able to give her a home and Mr Jenkins as a neighbour. She is still a little shy sometimes but loves to come and get her treats and race with Jenkins. She always wins. :-)

Ontario has only two accredited wildlife sanctuaries. Sanctuaries often take in animals harmed by unregulated facilities. Follow and support accredited sanctuaries. Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

Here is Njeri enjoying another beautiful sunny day for our last Open Day of the year.
Thank you to everyone who came to visit and thank you for all the generous donations of food and treats and laundry detergent for our monkeys and lemurs.
See you next year!

Happy Birthday Gerdie! She turns 30 years old today. The first years of her life were difficult as she spent them in a tiny lab cage. We are so grateful that she was one of the rare lab monkeys to be given the opportunity to retire and could spend the rest of her life in a larger space, be outdoors for the first time along with Boo as they groom each other and eat, play and sleep together.
She's a feisty girl and we hope that continues for many more years.

Unregulated facilities put communities and animals at risk — no licensing, no mandatory emergency plans. Ask your MPP to support Bill 35. Read the Bill here: https://www.ola.org/en/legislative-business/bills/parliament-44/session-1/bill-35

🪞🐒 Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most handsome macaque of them all?

Max, of course! ❤️ He absolutely loves his reflection—staring, making faces, touching the mirror, and moving it around to get a better look. This boy never gets tired of admiring himself! 😂🥰
