ਲੈਥਬ੍ਰਿਜ, ਏ.ਬੀ( LETHBRIDGE, AB): ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਕੂਟਸ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਰਾਂਹੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਚ ਕੋਕੀਨ ਸਮੱਗਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੇਠ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਜੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਦਸ ਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਨੋ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਜਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵੱਲੋ ਇਹ ਸਜ਼ਾ 99.5 ਕਿਲੋ ਕੋਕੀਨ ਸਮੱਗਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੇਠ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਗੁਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਤੂਰ ਤੇ ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ ਤੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਸੰਬਰ 2017 ਚ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਸਰਵਿਸਜ਼ ਐਜੰਸੀ (ਸੀਬੀਐਸਏ) ਵਲੋਂ ਕੂਟਸ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਉਤੇ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਦੋਨੋਂ ਜਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਮਰਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਟਰੱਕ ਟਰੇਲਰ ਰਾਂਹੀ ਕੈਲੌਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਏਅਰਡਰੀ (ਅਲਬਰਟਾ) ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਲੀਵਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਟਰੱਕ ਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਰੱਖੀ 99.5 ਕਿਲੋ ਕੋਕੀਨ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ 5 ਤੋਂ 8 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।

ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਚ ਗੁਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਤੂਰ ਨੂੰ 10 ਸਾਲ ਤੇ ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ ਨੂੰ 9 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਜਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਦੱਸਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੁਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਤੂਰ ਜੋਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸਿਟੀਜਨ ਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ ਤੂਰ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਕਾਰਡ ਐਕਸਪਾਇਰ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ।
