自国外携入香菸产品税率调整
　
联邦海关暨国税署昨（一）日宣布，即日起将调整加国居民自国外携回香菸产品的税额，希望藉此减少民众的吸菸量。

根据新的规定，今後民众凡自国外携回香菸产品，每条（carton）二百支装的香菸须缴税十元，每条二百支装的菸草卷则须缴税七元，菸草每二百克须缴税六元，只有标明为加拿大产制的香菸产品才能继续享有限量免税优惠。

海关暨国税署指出，这项新税制适用於加国居民、抵埠报到的移民，以及回国定居的加国民众。该署表示，联邦政府已在今年四月间宣布一套减少全国民众吸菸的方案，而这项措施即是其中一环。
