I was honoured to attend the 41st White Rock–South Surrey Leadership Prayer Breakfast, bringing our community together in faith, service, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

A thank you to keynote speaker Maryanne Connor for sharing her story of how NightShift began, and to Adrianna Mazurek for her beautiful musical performance.

It’s always meaningful to come together as a community, reflect on the importance of serving others, and celebrate the people who make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Small businesses keep our communities strong, create local jobs, and drive economic growth!

During Small Business Week (October 19–25), we’re highlighting federal programs and resources available to help Canadian businesses grow and navigate challenges, including those created by ongoing tariff uncertainty.

It was a pleasure connecting with representatives from the Navy League of Canada to learn more about their work supporting youth development, leadership, and maritime awareness.

Thank you for your continued dedication to inspiring young Canadians!

Twelve years ago, a deadly attack at the National War Memorial and on Parliament Hill left our capital and our country in shock and mourning, just two days after a separate attack in in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec.

Today, we honour the service and courage of Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who gave their lives to defend the rights and freedoms afforded to us as Canadians – and recognise the first responders and all those who, in a moment of danger, acted to protect and help others.

The energy was high at the rink last week as the Surrey Eagles faced off against the Prince George Spruce Kings! I had the chance to drop the puck and join fans in cheering on our hometown team.

I’m proud to support local hockey and the team that brings our community together. If you haven’t been to a game yet, gather your friends and family and come experience the excitement for yourself!

Check out the schedule and get your tickets at https://www.surreyeagles.net/

Go Eagles!

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at the B.C. Salmon Recovery & Resilience Conference in Vancouver.

Protecting and rebuilding wild Pacific salmon is a priority for our government. With over $412 million for the next phase of the Pacific Salmon Strategy Initiative (PSSI) and $106.5 million through the new B.C. Fisheries Fund, we are investing in salmon recovery, habitat restoration, and stronger fisheries.

Thank you to the Pacific Salmon Foundation, First Nations, scientists, and community partners for your continued dedication to protecting wild Pacific salmon for generations to come.

Invisible Disabilities Week runs from October 18 to 24, 2026. It’s an opportunity to learn about and raise awareness of non-apparent disabilities, like those related to pain, mental health, neurodiversity, learning disabilities, and more.

People with invisible disabilities may struggle in silence, feel unsupported, or misunderstood. This is why fostering inclusive, open and communicative workplaces, schools and communities is so important.

Trust plays a key role in creating these environments.
When people feel safe to speak up, ask questions, and share their experiences, they are more likely to access the tools they need to contribute fully.

This Invisible Disabilities Week, take some time to learn more about how you can help foster trust, safety, and inclusion in your workplace and community.
