The Blue Mountains Public Library The Blue Mountains Public GLAM
Gallery | Library | Archive | Museum
Offering year-round programs, author talks, workshops and art & culture exhibitions

The BMPL is comprised of a Gallery, Library, Archive and Museum. At the time of the establishment of BMPL in 1995 and the opening of L.E. Shore in 1996, the organization was an early trail blazer of the GLAM by including a gallery within the building. In 2016 the Board and TBM further established the organization as a GLAM when the Craigleith Heritage Depot community museum became a part of the BMPL.

Everyone thinks being a librarian is uncool… keep thinking that 😉

Canadian (and local) photographer Ben Mark Holzberg will be hosting a photography critique workshop here in The Gallery on November 21st from 1-3pm. A great opportunity to learn and discuss your work alongside your peers!
I caught up with Ben Mark to chat framing, because I always put my subject smack dab in the middle… lesson learned!

Register for the workshop and submit your photographs by November 16th.

Temporary Service Disruptions at Craigleith Heritage Depot

The Craigleith Heritage Depot Museum and Archive will experience temporary service disruptions throughout the winter as we replace the building’s HVAC system.

Leading up to the disruption, the Museum will be FREE for visitors from October 29-November 1.

Beginning Monday, November 2
The Museum will be closed to visitors. Library services will remain available.

Beginning Monday, November 9
The Museum will remain closed, and library services will also be temporarily unavailable at this location.
During this time, you can pick up your library holds at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library in Thornbury or access our online services from home at thebluemountainslibrary.ca

We appreciate your patience as we complete these important building improvements.

Looking for a little stillness in a busy world?

Join us at The Gallery at L.E. Shore on Saturday, November 7, from 2–4pm for the opening of Traces of Stillness, a collaborative exhibition by Robin Kingsburgh and Maija Zemitis.

Inspired by the textures, patterns, and rhythms of the natural world, their work invites us to slow down, take a closer look, and reconnect with the beauty around us. Come meet the artists, explore their work, and enjoy an afternoon of art and conversation.

Opening Reception: November 7 | 2–4pm
Exhibition Dates: November 7 – December 2, 2026
Location: The Gallery at L.E. Shore

Free to attend, and no registration required. Everyone is welcome!
