Last night, we were honoured to attend the 2026 Toronto Garrison Officers’ Ball.

It was a meaningful evening that reflected service, tradition, discipline, and a deep commitment to Canada. Events like this are a powerful reminder of the bond between our Armed Forces and the communities they serve.

This morning was one of those moments that reminds you why the work matters.

I attended the LiUNA Local 183 Members’ Meeting, and I had the honour of bringing several of our young men with me. These are men who came through our mentoring, trained at the LiUNA Local 183 Training Centre, and have been working steadily for a while now. Not as guests. Not as observers.

As proud LiUNA Local 183 members.

Watching them walk into that room with confidence, standing shoulder to shoulder with the union they’ve earned their place in, was powerful. The growth is real. The discipline is real. The transformation is real.

To LiUNA Local 183: thank you. Thank you for opening doors, setting the standard, and changing lives through opportunity, structure, and support. You’ve had a direct impact on these young men, and I’ll never take that for granted.

Proud doesn’t even cover it. 🖤💪

Today was one of those moments that reminds us why we do this work. Two of our past participants stopped by the office, now fully working, fully committed, and building real careers in the skilled trades. They put in the hours, stayed disciplined, and kept showing up even when it wasn’t easy. Now they’re proud members of LiUNA Local 183, working heavy civil, earning an honest living, and moving forward with purpose. We’re proud of you, boys. You’re not just working, you’re building your future.

Another cohorts of ours has reached the end of our Mentoring Boot Camp. This graduation represents consistency, effort, and real growth. This group showed up with focus. They participated fully. They learned, reflected, and held themselves accountable. They supported one another, and they kept going. At ORA, mentorship provides structure, guidance, and steady encouragement. This moring I brought our current cohort in training to a LiUNA Local 183 Members’ Meeting as special guests, so they could feel the Power and what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.

You can train someone on the tools and the trade… but there’s something different that happens when they walk into a room full of union members who’ve built careers, families, stability, and pride through brotherhood and sisterhood.

Our cohort didn’t just attend a meeting, they witnessed unity, strength, opportunity, and standards. They saw what the union really represents: a community that protects its people, raises expectations, and creates real pathways to a better life.

This is the power of belonging.

This is the power of LiUNA.

And this is only the beginning. 💪
