, the founder and chair of the U.S. House’s Congressional Pakistan caucus, for her time and attention to the urgent matter with respect to human right abuses in Pakistan.

These include the clampdown on freedom of expression to the peaceful oppositions in the streets as well as the multiple attempts of unjust arrest on the former Prime Minister, without following due process of the Law.

We anticipate her letter to President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken to insist on the Pakistani government to end these violations against the opposition and private citizens.

Serving in her fourteenth term as a member of the United States House of Representatives, and representing the 18th Congressional District of Texas, centered in Houston, a city with a large and influential Pakistani-American community, her influential presence in Washington is centered on three Congressional Committees: Judiciary, Homeland Security, and the crucial Budget Committee.

It will be seen as a reassurance of the USA’s commitment towards democracy and upholding of rights of freedom of speech in the region.

Canadians of Pakistani heritage are effectively collecting, reporting, analyzing, and disseminating news and information to their local MPs and MPPs urging them to speak about the transgressions the citizens of Pakistan have been facing.
This has borne fruit in the form of acknowledgement of their concerns, as 16 MPs who were approached have jointly written to the Prime Minister to urgently take up the matter of human right violations and abrogation of democratic rights, with Pakistani Government.
They are planning to visit Ottawa next, where MPs will be requested join them in the protest in front of the Parliament. Representation from across the country will be present.
