This year we carried our healing art and “art of connection” to Toronto, Hamilton, Waterloo, and Oakville. Through gentle painting and honest conversations, we saw how color, creativity, and community can lighten heavy hearts—especially during the holidays. In 2026, with Darren by my side, we’re bringing this movement to more cities across the GTA and beyond. Thrilled to have our own Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital join us for an Art Auction in support of child & adolescent mental health. At OTMH, the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit (CAPIS) provides short-term stabilization for children who require intensive support to facilitate their transition from inpatient to outpatient care. The mental health care team provides assessment, treatment, life skills training, and behavioral therapy for those in need and partner with the Halton District School Board to offer ongoing support to assist with their transition back to the community.

At OTMH, mental health patient volumes have continued to increase and have placed ongoing demands on this much needed service. The rate of Emergency Department visits for mental illness has increased significantly for 10-17 year olds in Halton and Ontario in the past 10 years, particularly among females. For children and youth struggling with mental health issues we believe it is essential that children and their families realize they are not alone when facing their mental health challenges.

These art pieces have been created with love, pain, joy & sorrow. Key life moments have led to the creation of each of these works of art, including two selected winners at Oakville’s Juried Art shows, 2016 - 2020.
