🚔 LOCK OR LOSE IT! 🔒

Our Toronto Police Service Auxiliary Officers conducted general patrols at various locations in 32 Division, including TTC parking lots.

They placed "Lock or Lose It" safety cards on vehicle windshields to remind drivers of simple steps to help prevent vehicle theft:

🔒 Lock your doors
👜 Remove valuables
🔑 Take your keys/key fob with you
💡 Park in a well-lit area

A few seconds can make a difference. **Don’t make it easy for thieves — Lock or Lose It!**

Foot patrols remain an important part of community policing at 32 Division.

Through the Neighbourhood Community Officer Program, our officers regularly patrol Yonge Street between Sheppard Avenue and Finch Avenue—including TTC stations, shopping centres and local businesses.

These patrols increase police visibility, enhance public safety and help us build stronger relationships with residents, business owners and visitors. Officers also respond to calls for service, conduct intelligence-led enforcement and assist other officers when needed.

Most importantly, foot patrols allow us to connect directly with the people we proudly serve.

Be cautious and remain vigilant when visiting bars and restaurants.

Recent purse thefts have occurred in the area. In some cases, one person may distract the victim while an accomplice takes a purse hanging from a chair.

If you hang your purse from a chair, keep it close, maintain sight of it and be cautious if a stranger attempts to distract you. Always check your belongings before leaving.

32 Division held a meeting with the Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), which brings police and community members together to discuss local concerns and strengthen community partnerships.

The presentation covered 32 Division’s boundaries, the Auxiliary and Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) programs, and awareness about recent phone scams and fraud prevention. Two Fall YIPI students also attended the meeting as observers.

Members of the Toronto Police Service’s Crime Prevention and Hate Crime units delivered a safety and hate-crime awareness presentation to members of the Child Holocaust Survivors Group at Baycrest.

The crime-prevention portion focused on frauds commonly targeting seniors, personal safety, break-and-enter prevention, when and how to contact police, and other practical information to help participants protect themselves and their property.

Members also learned how to recognize and report hate-motivated incidents and had an opportunity to ask questions and share their concerns.

As Toronto’s Jewish community observes the High Holidays, our officers will be present in neighbourhoods and community spaces across the city.

The Toronto Police Service remains committed to enhancing public education about hate crimes, taking all reports seriously and thoroughly investigating every reported hate-motivated incident.

Officers from Toronto Police Service’s 32 Division and TPS Chaplain Neft—attended Agudath Israel Congregation to discuss safety preparations for the upcoming Jewish holidays.

The meeting also included plans to deliver a future community safety presentation to members of the congregation.

Students are back in school, and our roads are busy again! Officers from **Toronto Police Service’s 32 Division** are conducting traffic enforcement in school zones to help keep students, families, and school staff safe. 🚸 Reduce your speed 🛑 Obey all traffic signs 🚗 Avoid stopping in prohibited areas 👀 Watch carefully for children crossing 📵 Put your phone away while driving Let’s work together to make every trip to and from school a safe one. **Slow down. Stay alert. Protect our children.**

At 32 Division, the safety of our children is always a top priority.

Our traffic officers are actively patrolling local school zones and enforcing traffic laws, including speed limits, stop signs, parking restrictions, school-bus rules and pedestrian crossings.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, remain alert, avoid distractions and follow the directions of crossing guards—especially during busy school arrival and dismissal times.

A few extra seconds of patience can help prevent a tragedy. Together, we can keep our school zones safe and protect our beloved children. 🚸
