The Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame is proud to announce its inductees for 2025, honouring distinguished individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the Portuguese-Canadian community and beyond. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at Camões Square at 722 College Street and Crawford in Toronto.

This year’s inductees embody the spirit of excellence, dedication, and community service that the Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame stands for. Their achievements span various fields, including arts and culture, sport, business and community leadership.

2025 Inductees
- Albino Fernandes da Silva – Cultural entrepreneur focused on cuisine. Owner of Chiado and other establishments.
- Maria Barcelos – Executive Director of The Gatehouse, dedicated to healing those who suffer mental health challenges.
- José M. Eustaquio – President of the Alliance of Portuguese Clubs and Associations of Ontario.
- First Portuguese Canadian Cultural Centre – Builders Category – Pioneered Luso Canadian culture for the past 60 years, always honoring their roots. Knowledge and compassion are at the heart of their mission.

The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM and is open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate these outstanding individuals and learn more about their inspiring journeys.

The Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame continues to recognize and celebrate the diverse accomplishments of Portuguese Canadians, fostering pride and inspiring future generations.

Honouring Comendador Antonio Belas

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Comendador Antonio Belas, a visionary entrepreneur and devoted community leader. Inducted into the Portuguese Canadian Walk of Fame in 2016, he was recognized for his immense contributions to the Portuguese-Canadian community.

Born in Cheleiros, Mafra, Portugal, he built one of Canada’s largest food distribution companies and founded the Real Canadian Portuguese Museum to preserve and celebrate Portuguese heritage. His unwavering dedication earned him the Award of Merit from the Portuguese government.

His legacy will forever be remembered through the lives he touched and the cultural bridges he built. Obrigado, Comendador Belas. 🕊️
