A subcommittee of the Hart House Literary and Library Committee, the Writers' Co-op explores various All students are welcome!

The Writers' Co-op of the Hart House Literary and Library Committee provides a welcoming environment for students to share and explore creative writing. The Co-op hosts weekly workshops for students to develop their skills, explore different styles, and learn through peer editing. Local authors also come to run workshops and share their experience with working in the literary community. The Writers' Co-op is always open to feedback, new opportunities, and members!

We're looking for creative submissions that respond to the theme "Rebirth" in advance of our November workshop!

Call for Creative Submissions for Workshop: "Rebirth" with the Writer's Co-op!

After more than a year of strange, horrific, and saddening events, how have you approached change and reinvention?
We are accepting poetry and prose submission that respond to the theme of "rebirth", which will be compiled into a journal for our upcoming workshop "Write from the Heart", taking place on November 4, 2021. These can take the form of individual poems, short fiction, personal or creative essays.

There is no limitation on the potential subject matter submissions can cover, so long as they respond to the theme of "rebirth" in some shape or form.
Submissions should not exceed 2,500 words, but there is no minimum word count. The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2021. Please send all pieces to [email protected]. We look forward to seeing your work!
