I am a clinical social worker providing psychotherapy, counselling, and parent coaching in downtown Toronto. I am passionate about parenting, and how we raise children to be resilient, independent, kind, compassionate, and responsible young adults. I help parents of typical children as well as those with special needs, by providing evidence-based tools and strategies. I also assist with mental hea
lth issues that emerge for parents. I teach you how to manage conflict in your home, parent as a team, advocate for your children at school, and calmly address parenting issues that trigger anger and frustration. I help you support your children in a loving manner while maintaining boundaries and limits. The balance between taking care of children, partners, professional lives, and ourselves can be overwhelming. Many parents are shocked and unprepared for the stresses that arise in the process of creating a family. To complicate matters, social media places tremendous emphasis on being the perfect parent, able to effortlessly juggle competing demands. I have 3 teenagers, including 2 with special needs (autism, ADHD, LD, anxiety), and am in a unique position to understand parenting. My oldest was exceptionally challenging when he was young, and facilitating his development into a successful young adult informs my belief that with the right tools we can help our children overcome significant obstacles.
