Last week we came together in celebration of Asian Heritage Month through art, culture, storytelling, and community ✨
In partnership with the Toronto Asian Art Museum, community members explored Asian artifacts, participated in hands-on art activities like painting and origami, and engaged in meaningful conversations about history and identity which included a presentation on the history of Islam in China.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of learning, creativity, and connection! Events like these remind us of the importance of celebrating the richness and diversity of Asian cultures, histories, and communities.
A special thank you to the Toronto Asian Art Museum for sharing their knowledge and helping create such a welcoming and engaging space 💙

🌈 May 17 marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOTB) — a day to recognize, resist, and speak out against the discrimination and violence faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ communities around the world.
This day is a reminder that everyone deserves to live with safety, dignity, and the freedom to be fully themselves. It also commemorates the historic moment in 1990 when the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases — a milestone in the ongoing fight for human rights and equality.
At our organization, we believe that inclusion is not optional — it is essential. We remain committed to creating welcoming, affirming spaces where people of all gender identities and sexual orientations feel seen, respected, and supported.
Today, and every day, we stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in celebrating authenticity, challenging hate, and building a future rooted in equity, compassion, and belonging. 💖

✨ “This program helped me believe that I can be a useful member of society.” ✨
When participants join our Civic Engagement Training program, they bring their experiences, hopes, and goals with them. Through learning, discussion, and community connection, they build knowledge, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging.
We were deeply moved to receive this message from program participant Zahra, who shared how the program helped her rediscover her voice, reconnect with her passions, and regain the confidence to speak up and lead.
From volunteering in civic spaces to stepping into a new leadership role at work, Zahra's journey is a powerful reminder that access to knowledge, community, and opportunity can create meaningful change.
“As an immigrant, I truly hope programs like this continue… Social engagement builds confidence, creativity, and a sense of purpose.”
Thank you, Zahra, for being part of our community. 💙
