The Office of the French Language Services Commissioner works to ensure active, integrated delivery of French-language services in support of the development of the Francophone community and Ontarian society. June 26-27 Toronto – Welcome to our portrait’s series: Rónán Ó Domhnaill, Irish Language Commissioner since 2014 , based close to Galway, Ireland. He is Chair of the IALC and of the Irish Ombudsman Forum, and also a member of the Executive Committee of the Ombudsman Association. Rónán Ó Domhnaill worked 16 years as a journalist with the national broadcaster in Ireland, and he has recently written a thesis on the independence of Ombudsmen in Ireland.

Her research interests focus primarily on minority education, French minority language education and English minority language education in Canada, educational policy, school and society, the process of identity construction, and teaching in minority settings.

In addition to her academic career, Prof. Malloy has served in the Danish Foreign Service in numerous positions and represented the Danish Government in international fora on post-conflict resolution for Rwanda and Bosnia, transition and development for Albania as well as on indigenous affairs issues.
