The Humanist Association of Toronto (HAT) is an independent, registered charity dedicated to Secular Humanist education, connection and community.

"Humanism is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality." - IHEU Minimum Definition of Humanism:

Excited to share this upcoming adventure with the Royal Canadian Navy! For the past two years, I’ve had the honour of representing Humanist Canada and the Humanist Perspective on the Interfaith Committee on Canadian Military Chaplaincy (ICCMC) for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). On November 4-5, I’ll have the privilege of spending two days at sea aboard the HMCS Kingston, a Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel (MCDV). This unique opportunity will give me a front-row seat to the skills and technology the RCN uses in the service and defence of Canada, and a chance to experience the complex environment our sailors navigate. An invaluable experience for my ICCMC role. Stay tuned for photos—no fishing rod needed! 😂
