A powerful day with our EmpowerMENt youth.
We kicked things off at the Ontario Court of Justice, where participants got a firsthand look at how the justice system works, observing real proceedings and deepening their understanding of the law beyond the classroom. 💼⚖️👩🏾⚖️
We wrapped up the day at The Rec Room with games, food, and team-building activities for a truly unforgettable experience. 🕹️🎮🏀
Their voices are the impact 💙
Hearing youth reflect, share, and speak on their experiences was the most healing part of the day.
This is why we do the work.
Part 2 of the Pathways Forward Youth Conference recap. A very special day shared with even more special people💙

We had the pleasure and opportunity to organize our very first youth justice conference! The Pathways Forward Youth Conference held on March 28th was a meaningful achievement, with over 100 attendees who chose to spend their entire Saturday learning, connecting, and growing with us.
We were honoured to have David Mitchell as our keynote speaker, setting the tone for a day rooted in empowerment and purpose.
Our Education panel featured Liban Hassan (TDSB trustee) and Asante Haughton (mental health professional), while our Justice & Prevention panel brought together Dr. Habeeb Alli (Muslim Correctional Chaplain) and Jean Gillespie (Justice professional) for an impactful discussion.
We also had a powerful Youth Panel featuring Jermauri Collins, Victor Akioda, and Noori Atiba, who shared their voices, insights, and experiences in a way that truly resonated with everyone in the room.
We also had youth engaged in breakout sessions exploring conflict resolution, anger management, coping with trauma, substance use awareness, goal setting, and restorative practices. This created a safe space for reflection, growth, and real conversations.
This day was filled with inspiration, community, hope, and pure joy. Most importantly, it reminded us of the importance of coming together to support and uplift our youth.
By the end of the conference, youth left with resource filled goodie bags and there were 5 lucky raffle winners!
Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and made this day possible. 💙
