On Thursday night, we had the honour of attending an opening night event at the City of Toronto Archives in celebration of a new exhibit, "If These Walls Could Talk – Researching the History of Where You Live". It was wonderful to see a house featured among 11 other locations located in Toronto. The exhibit is now open and runs until August 2024. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m – 4 p.m. Free entry. City of Toronto Archives, 255 Spadina Rd.

Iconic Award Winning mid-century modern house to be torn down and replaced with a monstrous McMansion in the heart of Midland Park. - We received a city notice today that 77 Oakley Blvd will be torn down. If you wish to see the proposed house plans & variance notice, you can find the documents at the very bottom of this webpage: http://midlandparktoronto.com/history.html. We will keep the documents there for a short time. If you have an opinion on this tear down please follow the instructions on the variance notice, sending an e-mail to the Committee of Adjustment with your comments, and you can also attend the virtual meeting and have your voice heard. Written submissions to the Committee of Adjustment must be e- mailed to [email protected] no later than 4:30 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022. This lot is currently an uncared for Parkwood house model that was an award winner when it was built in 1960. We are sad to see this one go. The proposed house plan is very similar to the McMansion built on Birkdale Road (at Cartier Crescent).
