And this is the first issue that we’re printing. 2,500 copies will be made available at the CCU Labour School and Executive Board meeting taking place in Winnipeg from June 6 to 7. CCU affiliates will take hundreds of hard copies back to their communities.

At York University, many staff work in office-based and administrative environments that may appear low-risk compared to other sectors, but still carry real occupational health and safety concerns.

Today, the first round of layoffs officially began at the Crofton pulp mill on Vancouver Island. Families are losing their paychecks, and workers are being forced to empty their lockers. Despite the critical role forestry plays in our economy, our Brothers and Sisters in the Public and Private Workers of Canada - PPWC are being met with federal delays and inadequate support.
