Our Squadron Warrant Officer, WO1 Mahmood, is training to fly on the Power Pilot course this summer. After passing ground school lessons, written aviation exams, and interview boards, he is part of a select group at Trenton Cadets's London site who have the opportunity to earn their private pilot's license (valued at $15,000) at no cost. ✈️

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! This year, as aspects of in-person summer training begin to return, many of our cadets are participating in summer training at camps across the country.

Some of our senior cadets have chosen to take on leadership positions as staff cadets this summer. Below is a spotlight on FSgt Jiang, one of the Cadet Correspondents for Trenton Cadet Training Centre. Follow along as she captures many of the photos and activities of Trenton Cadets!

Say hello to one of our cadet correspondents for this summer!

Pictured below is FSgt Sammi Jiang, the Cadet Correspondent for the Trenton Cadet Training Centre who works both here and at the Kingston Sail site. She's from 110 Blackhawk Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Scarborough, Ontario.

In her civilian life, Sammi manages a social media page with over 55k followers focused on reusing and recycling items. As one of her hobbies, she also has an account dedicated to pictures of food she takes on the side. She will be entering Management Engineering at the University of Waterloo this fall, and wants to become a software developer.

Her main goal this summer is to take memorable photos so that everyone can look back on them when the summer is over. She also wants to develop her camera skills, and gain more experience in journalism.

Community Clean-up / Practice Practice Practice!

The development of good citizenship and leadership is a core component of the cadet program. After a long morning of practice in preparation for Squadron's 49th Annual Ceremonial Review and Change of Command, taking place this Sunday, June 12th, 2022. the cadets of 110 took it upon themselves to perform a community clean-up! The cadets searched the premise in great detail for litter, collected it all, then placed it into garbage bags so that it could be properly disposed of. After the clean-up, cadets made sure to sanitize their hands to prevent the spread of any germs found on the pieces of litter. It is well understood at 110 that it is our duty to take care of our community and training facilities to the best of our abilities. With the return to full in-person training, along with the further easing of covid restrictions, 110 Squadron will most definitely be taking part in more frequent community clean-ups. So be sure to say tuned.

Great work everyone!

Cheers to the long awaited return of inperson Field Training Exercises!

Earlier this month, all cadets of 110 Squadron took part in the squadron's first FTX since pre-covid times. Thanks to the hardwork put in by 110's staff and Level 5s, the exercise was completed without a hitch.

Great work everyone!
