Cosey Fanni Tutti is a s3x worker, artist, musician, and performer whose work challenged dominant ideas around s3xuality, labour, and representation.

In the 1970s, Cosey brought her own experiences working as a n**e model, str1pper, and adult film star into her artistic practice, refusing the idea that s3x work existed outside conversations about art, politics, or culture. Instead, she used those experiences to question stigma, power, intimacy, and why some forms of labour are accepted while others are marginalized.

Decades later, these conversations remain deeply relevant. S3x workers have always shaped culture, created art, and pushed back against systems that try to render their labour invisible.

Swipe through for moments featuring Cosey from Correspondence by Artists: Genesis P-Orridge at Art Metropole, closing May 31st.

This year, we’re honouring 40 years of Maggie’s and recognizing the people, stories, and work that have shaped our history. From grassroots organizing and harm reduction to collective action and community care, our history belongs to everyone who helped build it.

Swipe through to explore moments from our journey over the last four decades.

As we mark this anniversary, we’re also building a community archive. We’re looking for photographs, flyers, posters, newsletters, artwork, event materials, and other ephemera that reflect the communities connected to Maggie’s.

If you have images, memories, or materials you’d like to share, we invite you to submit them and help preserve this history for future generations. ❤️
