Though it was decided with great sadness that this year's 30th Ontario Model Parliament would also be the event's final iteration, those who were in charge have since been hard at work in creating a new event that would once again engage youth in the pressing issues of their day, while simultaneously broadening the scope of both the debate, and of the cross section of participants. It is with this in mind that we are very pleased to announce that preparations are well under way for Ontario Model United Nations 2016! A combination of our previous events UMUN and OMP, OMUN promises to be an innovative, and enjoyable MUN experience, and we value every bit of support that we can get. Ontario Model United Nations Ontario Model United Nations, or OMUN, is a simulation of the United Nations organization, run by high school and college students at Upper Canada College.

Our Staff was dismayed to hear such comments coming from an MPP, especially when we have received support from across the aisle and when our event has had keynotes delivered by those such as NDP MPP Rosario Marchese, PC MPP Frank Klees, and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Upper Canada College | Students dismayed by MPP’s misinformed comments Student organizers of the Ontario Model Parliament (OMP) were disappointed by recent erroneous comments made by MPP Cheri DiNovo, calling for an end to a 30-year tradition of providing UCC students with access to the legislative chamber at Queen’s Park.

Thank you to all those who attended the 30th and final Ontario Model Parliament, OMP 2015. It was a fantastic event highlighted by great debate and two interesting and engaging speakers. Congratulations to all the delegates who attended for a productive, educational and stimulating session.

The Registration deadline has been extended to allow schools to get their final registration in. Registration for OMP 2015 is already about 90% full, so get your registration in soon to ensure you get a place.
