Honoring Black History Month: A Community Reflection

Black History Month reminds us that the fight for justice is not carried by individuals alone, but by communities rooted in resilience, care, and collective action. While Black communities have made profound contributions to society, they continue to face systemic racism that affects families, neighborhoods, and future generations.

As Malayalis working within communities, we understand how history, identity, and access shape people’s lives. Though our experiences differ, they teach us the same truth: real change happens when communities stand together, protect truth, and advocate for one another.

Honoring Black history means strengthening solidarity across communities and recommitting ourselves to building spaces where dignity, equity, and justice are shared by all.
