🇭🇺 A Helikon Gimnázium évtizedek óta elkötelezetten szolgálja a torontói magyarságot, generációról generációra örökítve át magyar kulturális örökségünket.

Az iskola bevezeti a diákokat a magyar nyelv és irodalom, a történelem, a földrajz, valamint a magyar szokások és hagyományok rejtelmeibe, mindezt a kanadai oktatási rendszer (TCDSB) keretei között.

Az ide járó fiatalok olyan rendkívüli értékkel gazdagodnak, amely egy életre meghatározza identitásukat.
Ezúton fejezzük ki legmélyebb elismerésünket a tanári kar felé a magas szintű szakmai és nevelő munkáért, és köszönjük a szülőknek a támogató hátteret.

Idén újabb évfolyam fejezte be tanulmányait az intézmény falai között. Főkonzulátusunk nevében Markocsány Gábor köszöntötte és búcsúztatta a végzős növendékeket.

Sok sikert és eredményes jövőt kívánunk a végzősöknek!

🇨🇦 For many decades, the Helikon High School has been dedicatedly serving the Hungarian community in Toronto, passing down our Hungarian cultural heritage from generation to generation.

The school introduces students to the secrets of the Hungarian language and literature, history, and geography, as well as Hungarian customs and traditions, all within the framework of the Canadian education system (TCDSB). The young people attending this institution are enriched with an extraordinary value that shapes their identity for a lifetime.

We hereby express our deepest appreciation to the teaching staff for their high level professional and educational work, and thank the parents for providing a supportive background.

This year, another class completed their studies within the walls of the institution. On behalf of our Consulate General, Gábor Markocsány welcomed and bid farewell to the graduating students.

We wish the graduates much success and a prosperous future!

🇭🇺 Minden korosztályt felvonultató, közel 100 táncost számláló előadással zárta az évet a Kodály Együttes Toronto közössége!

Hálásan köszönjük az Együttes vezetésének és a Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Program (KCSP) ösztöndíjas néptánctanárainak rendkívül színvonalas munkáját. Az ő elhivatottságuk teszi lehetővé a magyar hagyományok ilyen magas szintű művelését és megőrzését a hazától ilyen távol is.

A zenéről a Pro Cultura Hungarica díjas Magyar Kálmán prímás és az általa vezetett Gyanta Banda népzenei együttes gondoskodott. A néptáncegyüttes részére szóló főkonzulátusi elismerő oklevelet Markocsány Gábor közösségi diplomata adta át, ezzel ismerve el a 65 éves Kodály Együttes, a kultúra és hagyományok terjesztése érdekében végzett munkáját a diaszpórában.

🇨🇦 The Community of Kodály Ensemble in Toronto closed the year with a magnificient performance featuring nearly 100 dancers of all ages!

We are deeply grateful for the dedicated work of the Ensemble’s leadership and the folk dance teachers who are scholars of the Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Program (KCSP). Their dedication makes it possible to cultivate and preserve Hungarian traditions at such a high level, so far from home.

The authentic Hungarian folk music was provided by the Pro Cultura Hungarica Award-winning Kálmán Magyar and his Gyanta Folk Band. Gábor Markocsány diaspora liaison presented a Consular Certificate of Recognition for the folk dance ensemble, recognizing the 65-year-old Kodály Ensemble's work in promoting culture and traditions within the diaspora.

Túl az Óperencián címmel a magyar emigrációról tart érdekfeszítő előadást Dr. Heil Kristóf, a Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem és az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem oktatója.

🇨🇦 Lecture on the Hungarian diaspora at the Hungarian House in Toronto!

Dr. Kristóf Heil, a lecturer at the National University of Public Service and Eötvös Loránd University, will give a fascinating lecture on Hungarian emigration titled "Beyond the Seven Seas."

🇭🇺 Ez évben először tartott a Torontói Főkonzulátus állampolgársági esküt. A május 26-ai ünnepségen 21 fővel gazdagodott a kanadai-magyar közösség.
Jákó János főkonzul köszöntötte elsőként új honfitársainkat.

🇨🇦 For the first time this year, the Consulate General in Toronro held the oath of citizenship. At the ceremony on May 26, the Hungarian-Canadian community was enriched by 21 new member whom were firstly welcomed by Consul General, János Jákó.

🇭🇺Szívből gratulálunk a Brantford Hungarian Hall csapatának a fantasztikusan megszervezett esthez! Öröm volt látni, milyen elkötelezetten és büszkén őrzik és adják tovább a magyar hagyományokat a közösség minden generációja számára.

🇭🇺 Niagara Falls városban is rendszeresen találkoznak magyarok, akik izgalmas kulturális, irodalmi, gasztronómiai programok keretében élhetnek át magyar közösségi élményeket. A legutóbbi alkalom egy zenés időutazásra kalauzolta el a résztvevőket Guncz Nóra előadásában, ahol a '30-as, '40-es évek legszebb filmslágerei csendültek fel. A csodás hangulatú előadáson főkonzulátusunk képviseletében részt vett Markocsány Gábor közösségi diplomata is.

Köszönjük a Hungarian Seniors Association of Canada vezetőjének, Maros Zsuzsának kitartó és odaadó munkáját, amellyel ilyen izgalmas programokkal gazdagítja a niagarai magyar közösség életét.

🇨🇦 Hungarians meet regularly in the city of Niagara Falls too, where they can experience Hungarian Community life through exciting cultural, literary, and gastronomic programs. The most recent event took the participants on a musical journey through time with a performance by Ms. Nóra Guncz, featuring the most beautiful Hungarian film hits from the 1930s and 1940s. Gábor Markocsány, diaspora liaision diplomat also attended the wonderful performance on behalf of our Consulate General.

We thank Suzanna Maros, leader of the Hungarian Seniors Association of Canada, for her persistent and dedicated work in enriching the life of the Niagara Hungarian Community with such exciting programs.

🇭🇺 Ma este a TIFF Lightboxban került bemutatásra Pálfi György Szabadesés című filmje a „TIFF és Koreai Történetfesztivál bemutatja a JEONJU Programokat” programsorozat keretében.

A JEONJU Programok a Jeonju Nemzetközi Filmfesztivál kezdeményezése, amely az elmúlt években meghatározó felületévé vált a független és művészfilmek támogatásának és bemutatásának. A programsorozat a TIFF, a Koreai Történetfesztivál és a Koreai Köztársaság Torontói Főkonzulátusa együttműködésében valósul meg.

A vetítést Magyarország és a Koreai Köztársaság torontói főkonzuljai nyitották meg a TIFF és a JEONJU Programok képviselőivel közösen.

Nagy öröm és büszkeség volt látni, hogy egy magyar film is helyet kapott ebben a rangos nemzetközi válogatásban, amely a kortárs független filmművészet kiemelkedő alkotásait mutatja be.

🇨🇦 Tonight, György Pálfi’s film Free Fall was screened at TIFF Lightbox as part of the “TIFF and Korean Historical Film Festival Present the JEONJU Cinema Project” program series.

The JEONJU Programs are an initiative of the Jeonju International Film Festival, which in recent years has become an important platform for supporting and showcasing independent and art-house cinema. The program series is organized in cooperation with TIFF, the Korean Historical Film Festival, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto.

The screening was opened jointly by the Consuls General of Hungary and the Republic of Korea in Toronto, together with representatives of TIFF and the JEONJU Programs.

It was a great pleasure and source of pride to see a Hungarian film included in this prestigious international selection presenting outstanding works of contemporary independent cinema.
