📣Don’t let the missing 500 hours hold you back from your G1 license! HiMark’s G1 GAP course, approved by TSSA, is recognized as an equivalent to the prerequisite requirement of 500 hours of supervised G1 work experience on systems firing over 400,000 Btuh.

This course is designed for G2 technicians who are ready to take the next step in their careers but may be struggling to obtain the required hours. Note: Applicants must still hold a G2 license for at least 2 years (or 4,000 hours).

After completing the G1 GAP course, you will have 18 months to successfully complete an accredited Gas Technician 1 program and become licensed as a G1!

Recently, we had the opportunity to visit St. Brother Andre Catholic High School for their Careers in Motion – Trades in Action event, hosted by York Catholic District School Board.

We connected with Grade 9 and 10 students through hands-on shop activities and meaningful conversations about what HVAC is all about — and how to get started in this in-demand, highly sought-after trade.

Our outreach team had an amazing time at the Halton Catholic District School Board Annual Skilled Trades Fair this past Saturday! We truly enjoyed connecting with students, parents, and community members to talk about careers in the HVAC trade and the many pathways to get started.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited our booth and took part in our hands-on soldering and PEX pipe activities — it was great to see so many of you dive in and give it a try!

Last week we had this group of experienced technicians complete their 17-week training with instructor Anthony and wrote their G1 exam. Gas Technician 1 is the ultimate advanced certification level that will enable one to work on natural gas or propane appliances of any BTU input in commercial and industrial settings.
