A non-profit organisation, aimed to unite the Canadians, who are committed to the cause of promoting democracy and freedom in Russia.
The Programme of Canadians for Democracy in Russia
Our aims include:
1. To promote a democratic, constitutional and European path for Russia, and to oppose authoritarianism and corruption in and aggressive foreign policy of that country.
2. To unite the Canadians, who share this view, to wit, that Russia needs become a democratic peaceful state, free of corruption and autocracy. We aim to provide
said people with opportunities and a stage to express their position and be heard publicly and, thus, to demonstrate, that, particularly amongst Russian-speaking people, there are many, who do not support the autocratic style, the corruption and the aggression of the Russian government.
3. To organise and help coordinate the activities of our supporters, videlicet carrying out protests, conferences, lectures, presentations, exhibitions, preparing articles and materials for the media, amongst other like activities and events.
4. To influence Canadian politicians to take such actions with regard to foreign policy, as shall be conducive to the cause of promotion of democracy in Russia and obstructive to the spread of autocracy, corruption and aggressive tendencies in said country.
5. To seek and maintain connexions with and support the pro-democratic forces within Russia and those located outside thereof, which are being sympathetic to the cause of democracy in Russia.
6. Our organisation is not affiliated with any specific movement or party, whether in Russia or outside thereof: we are to provide stage to all individuals, notwithstanding their personal affiliations, as long as they are supportive of the idea of democracy and constitutionalism in Russia. The organisation does not necessarily agree with all of the opinions expressed by its guests or speakers. Nor do the opinions of the individual members of our organisation necessarily represent the official position and opinion thereof.
