On Wednesday, November 25, 2025, Progressive Action for Community Empowerment (PACE) organized a community briefing and outreach event to raise awareness about political engagement and assisted community members with postal voting registration for the upcoming Bangladesh national election.
PACE volunteers actively supported numerous community members in completing their postal ballot registration, ensuring they are able to participate in this historic democratic opportunity. For the first time in Bangladesh's history, expatriate Bangladeshis will be able to vote in the national election from abroad. Eligible Bangladeshis and Bangladeshi-Canadians residing in Canada who are registered voters can log in to the Postal Vote BD app using their Bangladeshi National ID to complete the registration process. Upon successful registration, the official ballot paper will be delivered directly to the voter's address.
PACE believes that engaging in the political process and exercising one's voting rights are empowering acts for any active citizen, contributing to a more transparent and accountable community and country.
Several community members, including PACE board members, attended the event at a local restaurant in the Danforth and Victoria Park area. PACE extends its sincere appreciation to the volunteers and participants for their strong enthusiasm and active involvement in this initiative.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a seminar on AI and Development at the University of Toronto. Canada isn't just leading in tech — it's showing the world how AI can change lives and support communities.
Meeting so many Bangladeshi-origin researchers and academics leading in this exciting field touched me the most. I briefly talked about PACE and shared our thoughts on empowering the community.
Young Bangladeshi PhD students and researchers shared their amazing AI projects with passion, clarity, and purpose. Their ideas really inspired me to think about how AI can help our communities grow.
Research should not stay inside labs — it should reach the people.
Let's bring the power of knowledge to those who need it most.
