Η Εύξεινος Λέσχη Θεσσαλονίκης βρίσκεται μεταξύ των βασικών συνδιοργανωτών του 2ου Θερινού Σχολείου για τις Γενοκτονίες, στο οποίο θα διδάξουν μερικοί από τους κορυφαίους επιστήμονες διεθνώς. Ζητήματα όπως μαζική βία, εγκλήματα διεθνούς δικαίου, μνήμη, πολιτισμικό τραύμα και ζητήματα μετασυγκρουσιακών διευθετήσεων και επιλύσεων, θα είναι μερικά μόνο από τα θέματα που θα μελετηθούν. Από τις 15 θέσεις για τους φοιτητές οι 5 έχουν ήδη καλυφθεί από την Τουρκία και την Αρμενία, συνεπώς οι ενδιαφερόμενοι να σπεύσουν άμεσα.

Ο Πατήρ Γεώργιος Κολιός, Ιερατικός Προϊστάμενος του Ιερού Ναού Αγίου Ιωάννου του Βαπτιστού της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας Τοροντο στο Scarborough, σχεδιάζει τη δημιουργία δύο ξεχωριστών χορωδιών, μίας παιδικής και μίας ενηλίκων.

Οι χορωδίες θα έχουν ως αντικείμενο τη γενική μουσική παιδεία και χορωδιακή τέχνη, προσφέροντας στα μέλη τους την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν τις μουσικές τους δεξιότητες, να καλλιεργήσουν την αγάπη για το τραγούδι και να συμμετέχουν σε ποικίλες μουσικές δραστηριότητες και εκδηλώσεις.

Περισσότερες πληροφορίες σχετικά με το πρόγραμμα, τις πρόβες και τη διαδικασία συμμετοχής θα ανακοινωθούν προς το τέλος του τρέχοντος καλοκαιριού.

Η συμμετοχή στις χορωδίες θα προϋποθέτει επιτυχή ακρόαση, η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί πριν από την έναρξη των δραστηριοτήτων τους.

Learn Greek Through Singing

Father George Kolios, Presiding Priest of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Greek Community of Toronto in Scarborough, is planning the formation of two separate choirs: one for children and one for adults.

The choirs will focus on general music education and choral singing, offering participants the opportunity to develop their musical skills, cultivate a love for singing, and take part in a variety of musical activities and performances.

More information regarding the program, rehearsal schedule, and registration process will be announced toward the end of the current summer.

Participation in the choirs will require a successful audition, which will take place prior to the beginning of their activities.

Γυναικείο Τμήμα Βυζαντινής Χορωδίας Ιερού Ναού Αγίου Δημητρίου,
για την ψαλμώδηση της Παράκλησης και των Χαιρετισμών προς την Υπεραγία Θεοτόκο!

Ο πατέρας Αποστόλος Γκόλιας, προσκαλεί θερμά όλες τις γυναίκες, που επιθυμούν, να συμμετάσχουν στη Γυναικεία Βυζαντινή Χορωδία του Ιερού Ναού Αγίου Δημητρίου. Η πρώτη μας συνάντηση θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Τετάρτη 17 Ιουνίου στις 6:00 μ.μ., όπου θα συγκεντρωθούμε για την ανάγνωση και ψαλμώδηση της Μικρής Παράκλησης προς την Υπεραγία Θεοτόκο.
Η ψαλμώδηση της Μικρής Παράκλησης από γυναίκες αποτελεί μία όμορφη και ευλογημένη παράδοση που συνεχίζεται μέχρι σήμερα σε πολλές περιοχές της Ελλάδας κατά την περίοδο της Νηστείας του Δεκαπενταύγουστου. Με τη δημιουργία αυτής της ομάδας, επιθυμούμε να συνεχίσουμε και να καλλιεργήσουμε αυτή την ιερή παράδοση και στην ενορία μας. Η πρωτοβουλία αυτή προσφέρει στις γυναίκες την ευκαιρία να συμμετέχουν ενεργά στη λατρευτική ζωή της Εκκλησίας και να εκφράζουν την αγάπη και την ευλάβειά τους προς την Παναγία μας!
Η Ακολουθία θα ψαλεί στην ελληνική γλώσσα. Θα διανεμηθούν ειδικά βιβλιάρια τόσο στα ελληνικά όσο και σε ελληνικά γραμμένα με αγγλικούς χαρακτήρες (Greeklish), ώστε όλες να μπορούν να συμμετέχουν με ευκολία.
Αποτελεί μια όμορφη ευκαιρία για τις γυναίκες της ενορίας και της ευρύτερης κοινότητάς μας να έρθουν πιο κοντά, να γνωριστούν καλύτερα, να καλλιεργήσουν πνευματικό φρόνημα και να ζήσουν την πλούσια παράδοση της Ορθόδοξης πίστης μας, δοξάζοντας και υμνώντας την Υπεραγία Θεοτόκο.

Δεν απαιτείται προηγούμενη εμπειρία—ξεκινάμε απλά και προχωράμε μαζί.

Την ημέρα αυτή θα ξεκινήσει επίσης ένας νέος κύκλος προσευχής με την τακτική τέλεση της Παράκλησης και των Χαιρετισμών προς την Υπεραγία Θεοτόκο.

Women’s Byzantine Chant Choir of the Holy Church of Saint Demetrios, for the chanting of the Paraklesis and the Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos!
Father Apostolos Gkolias warmly invites all women who wish to participate in the Women’s Byzantine Chant Choir of the Holy Church of Saint Demetrios. Our first gathering will take place on Wednesday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m., when we will come together for the reading and chanting of the Small Paraklesis to the Most Holy Theotokos.
The chanting of the Small Paraklesis by women is a beautiful and blessed tradition that continues to this day in many regions of Greece during the Dormition Fast. With the creation of this group, we hope to continue and cultivate this sacred tradition in our parish as well. This initiative offers women the opportunity to participate actively in the liturgical life of the Church and to express their love and devotion to our Panagia.
The service will be chanted in the Greek language. Special booklets will be provided both in Greek and in Greek written with English characters (Greeklish), so that everyone can participate with ease.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the women of our parish and the wider community to come closer together, get to know one another better, cultivate a spiritual mindset, and experience the rich tradition of our Orthodox faith as we glorify and praise the Most Holy Theotokos.
We look forward to welcoming you with joy! No prior experience is required—we begin simply and grow together.
On this day, a new cycle of prayer will also begin, with the regular chanting of the Paraklesis and the Salutations to the Most Holy Theotokos.

We are honoured to announce the participation of Arxontoula Konstantinidou from Greece in Synapantema 2026!

Arxontoula Konstantinidou is a philologist, a certified instructor of the Pontian dialect
(Pontiaka / Ποντιακά), a PhD candidate, and holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.)
in Language and Literature Teaching.

As part of the 2026 program, she will be presenting a workshop on the Pontian dialect (Pontiaka), offering our youth a unique opportunity to engage with and deepen their understanding of their linguistic and cultural heritage of Pontos (Πόντος). We look forward to welcoming her and to her sharing her passion for Pontos and our cultural heritage with all of us.
