Apparently Florida is going to great lengths to avoid mentioning race in any math text book, and are now about to try to remove the mention of race in social studies text books, which apparently includes avoiding mentioning race when telling Rosa Parks story. Am I shocked? Nah. Having lived there, I can tell you that Florida is as fer south as y’all gonna git, and that includes an intense version of all southern stereotypes, with a significant number of generational Floridians who proudly speak with a southern accent.
