An updated CD-100 from PCM Artificial Lift Solutions has completed in-house mechanical testing and a field trial in Canada.

The updated CD-100 keeps all the best parts from the original version and adds newer technologies already proved in the CD-30 and CD-60. These newer driveheads all run more efficiently than the previous generation, resulting in significant energy savings. The motor frame has been improved so that belt tensioning is much simpler and lifting slings or chains do not interfere with the polished rod.

Like all CD Series driveheads, the CD-100 comes standard with the environmental PCM EcoSeal (as shown) or is available with a traditional stuffing box.

The updated CD-100 can be ordered with three different sizes of thrust bearing to cover a large range of applications.

How many of these P*P "rules" are actually true?
Let's put your knowledge to the test.

➡️ A P*P cannot be run at 90°
➡️ A good P*P should have a test bench efficiency of 60–80%
➡️ Every P*P system needs a torque anchor
➡️ Choking the tubing reduces free gas at the pump intake
➡️ The rod string always rotates when the rotor enters the stator during installation
➡️ Pony rods and rod guides improve run life in high dogleg severity wells

Some of these statements are true, others are myths, and some are far more nuanced than they first appear. As explained in this technical presentation, many industry beliefs are based on real observations but become misleading when applied without considering the operating conditions.
