Hey all you Great Garbage Grabbers! It's been a while since I've been active on this page. A nagging elbow injury sidelined me for a while, and my attention wandered...but now I'm back and ready to take up my gloves, trash grabber and bag and hit the streets once again!
What do you say to a 2026 Great Garbage Grab campaign! Between January 16 and February 16, let's clean up our streets, our parks, our schoolyards, and our walking trails, and keep them clean all month long. Post photos of your efforts and support the efforts of others as well. Let's cheer each other on!
Don't forget to encourage your friends, family and neighbours to join the Great Nanaimo Garbage Grab, and promote this campaign on your social media networks. Remember, litter doesn't go away just because we want it to -- ya gotta pick it up! And no one is coming to do it for us, so let's be our own heroes and do it ourselves!
This post would not be complete without a big thanks to Joel Canfield and Team Copenhagen for their unflagging efforts to keep Nanaimo clean and safe for all of us, all year round, year after year. You are an amazing member of this community and a role model for all of us!
