CBC Marketplace recently tested over 20 different face masks for efficacy.

The winners...
Blue three-ply surgical-type disposable masks (like CSI Essentials) reported some of the highest filtration efficiency rates in the Marketplace test.

Why are disposable 3-ply masks better?
The polypropylene fabric and interwoven matrix of fibre.

According to James Scott, a professor and specialist in bioaerosols who runs the lab where Marketplace did testing, "Air needs to travel around each one of those fibres. As it meets the next fibre it needs to bend its path. As this is done, those fabrics pull out lots and lots of particles".

Our Story

In March 2020, as the world woke up to the grim reality that community spread of the COVID-19 had started, CSI’s President Steve Brown recognized he could help.

For over 40 years, CSI has been sourcing products and developing supplier relationships overseas. As demand for masks and protective items exceeded domestic supply, Steve reached out to accredited suppliers overseas. Since CSI has the customer support, infrastructure and supply chains in place, we were able to bring protective items into North America quickly and for a reasonable price.

We will never participate in price gauging. Integrity is our backbone. We believe in doing the right thing, standing behind our promises and treating others with respect. We believe in being open, honest, and transparent with our customers, partners and employees.
