One Billion Rising Cowichan Members of the Cowichan Valley will be gathering in various places at various times in solidarity with women rising all across the globe! Why 1 billion rising?

Be a part of a global movement to end violence against women! On International Women's Day, March 8th, we join ACTIONS staged around the world by women and those who love them to WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP, and DEMAND an end to violence. ONE BILLION RISING will move the earth, activating women and men across every country. One Billon Rising wants the world to see our collective strength, our numbers, and our solidarity across borders. Because 1 in 4 women experience sexual or physical abuse in their life time-- As a fraction of global population, this represents nearly 2 billion! One Billion Rising's goal will be met when One Billion around the world STAND UP!
