What an energizing evening earlier this week with Pierre Poilievre and the Campus Conservatives at the University of Windsor!

Pierre and I both got involved in politics at a young age, so being surrounded by that same passion, ambition, and determination felt especially meaningful. It brought back memories of getting started, believing you could make a difference, and finding the courage to step forward.

That spirit was alive and well in the room.

The next generation is already stepping up, and that gives me tremendous hope for Canada!

Direct flights from St. John’s to New York are coming back!

Starting June 2027, United Airlines will offer seasonal daily non-stop service between St. John's Airport and Newark. This connects Newfoundland and Labrador to one of the world’s busiest hub airports for the first time in over a decade.

More visitors. More business. More opportunity.

Welcome back, United Airlines. We’re glad to have you.

Rest In Peace, Gerard. 😢

I will always remember receiving your phone calls on birthdays, and having fun times at family gatherings. You will be missed by many who loved you. ❤️

This week, I’m even going to cheer for the Red Wings. 🏒

With heavy and broken hearts, the family of Gerard Whelan announce his sudden passing at home on Monday, October 12th, 2026. Gerard Whelan, aged 68 years, was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Whelan, and his brother, Paul Whelan. He leaves behind to mourn his wife of 38 years,

My greatest blessings, all in one photo… even if we needed a phone to get everyone in!

Janet and our boys mean more to me than I could ever put into words. As the boys grow and life takes us in different directions, I appreciate these moments more than ever. Being together, however we manage it, is something I never want to take for granted.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the family I love, the friends who show up, and the people who make our lives richer through their kindness, generosity, and care. I’m thankful for the chance to serve, to keep learning, and to make a difference where I can.

I’m also thinking of those missing someone at the table, struggling to put a meal on it, or quietly carrying something difficult. There is room in this holiday for gratitude and heartache, and room in our communities for all of us to do a little more for one another.

Make the call. Pull up another chair. Tell people you love them. Let’s put our gratitude into action.

From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving. May you feel loved, find reasons for hope, and know that you matter.

Loved spending time with Scouts in Harlow last night! Beautiful campgrounds, exciting activities, and a warm welcome from young people and volunteers made for a memorable evening. ⚜️

One of the things I love most about Scouting is that you can visit a group in another country and immediately feel part of the family. That shared spirit of friendship, adventure, and learning connects us wherever we go. 🌏

Thank you to our hosts for welcoming us, and to the dedicated volunteers who make these experiences possible. Seeing young people enjoying the outdoors and discovering what they’re capable of is a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do. 🙏🏻

Honoured to be at Gilwell Park this weekend for a meeting of the World Scout Committee. It’s been at least 15 years since my first visit, and being here still feels profound.

Known as the spiritual home of Scouting, Gilwell hosted the first Wood Badge training course in 1919. For generations, it has brought Scout leaders together to learn, build friendships, and prepare to make a difference in young people’s lives.

Returning as a member of the World Scout Committee is particularly meaningful. This place connects us to Scouting’s history, while reminding us of our responsibility to its future: ensuring more young people have the opportunity to experience adventure, discover their potential, and contribute to their communities.

Looking forward to a productive weekend with colleagues from around the world, united by a shared belief in what young people can achieve through Scouting.

First day of school photo. Ciaran starts high school at O’Donel, thirty years after I graduated from there! Sam begins junior high at St. Peter’s. (And Ben has been back at TNXL for month already.)

Good luck, boys.

Met Jonathan Torrens today!

Most people know him from Trailer Park Boys, Mr. D, Jonovision and more… but whenever I see him, I immediately think Street Cents.

Naturally, we had to sing the Street Cents theme song together.

We also talked about how valuable a program like that would be for young people today, helping kids become smarter, more informed consumers in a world of online shopping, influencers, subscriptions, and endless advertising.

Super nice guy. Great conversation. And yes, I got a bottle of his new wh***ey signed, too. (As for the “What’s Your Beef?” reference, !)

Now I’ll have that theme song stuck in my head for a second consecutive day…
