Express Entry is changing on November 3, 2026. Here’s the full breakdown 👇
1. New CRS points
A new Labour Market Integration factor rewards either Canadian work experience or a qualifying job offer in an eligible high-wage occupation. You can’t combine both. IRCC counts whichever scores higher, up to 150 points.
2. Job offers can earn 50, 70 or 100 points
The amount depends on the occupation’s wage level, not how much your employer pays you.
3. No more LMIA requirement
A qualifying job offer no longer needs an LMIA. It must still be genuine and meet IRCC’s rules, and having an LMIA no longer earns extra points.
4. Expect a pause in draws
IRCC will recalculate every profile in the pool, which could take up to two weeks. Draws are paused during that time, so don’t panic if nothing happens right after Nov 3.
5. Your score may change
Some candidates will go up, and others may shift in ranking. A higher score still doesn’t guarantee an invitation, and nobody can predict future cut-offs, so ignore guarantees.
6. Check your NOC
Not every occupation qualifies. Your NOC must match your actual duties, not just your job title.
Before Nov 3: if you have a job offer, update your profile now. Check the high-wage list, confirm your work experience, and make sure everything is accurate.
