Today is World Homeless Day and we want to remind you that homelessness doesn't always look the way you might expect. 💙

Hidden homelessness can take many forms, from staying temporarily with friends or family to living in unsafe conditions or facing the loss of housing.

Because these situations aren't always visible, they can go unrecognized in our communities.

This World Homeless Day, we're raising awareness of the many forms homelessness can take and reminding our community that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. 🏠💙

Last week we were happy to have Jacob Mantle stop by the office for a visit and to check out our Market Pantry! 🛒

We had the opportunity to show him around and share how the Market Pantry is helping North House clients access food in a welcoming, dignified, grocery store-style environment.

Thank you, Jacob, for taking the time to visit, learn more about the Market Pantry, and connect with our team! 🤝

This morning our team came together to reflect on the lasting impacts of the residential school system.

We understand that the impact of colonization cannot be solved with one day of the year. And we recognize that days like today give us the space to be intentional and reflective about how we can work towards reconciliation everyday.

Please take the time today to look through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action and see how you can also work towards reconciliation.

Thank you everyone who came out to the grand opening of the North House Market Pantry! 🛒 We had a blast celebrating this incredible milestone with the community!

The North House Market Pantry was made possible through the generous support of Elexicon Energy and the incredible work of everyone at Bennett Design and Arris Construction Group Inc. for bringing the vision to life. 💙

A special thank you to our friends at North Durham Chamber of Commerce - formerly Scugog Chamber for hosting our grand opening!

We’re so excited to see the Market Pantry become a place where people can access food, choice and support in their community. 🤗
