On October 24, 2026, from 12-2pm join us at the library for a Halloween Movie Day!

This is a free program for children aged 6 and up (and their caregivers). Children younger are welcome if a caregiver can stay for the duration of the program. Snacks will be provided.
Registration is encouraged (so we know how much popcorn to make!), but drop-ins are welcome, as well.

The library is an accessible building with automatic doors at the back of the library, a lift to downstairs, and accessible washrooms.

Your community, through your eyes!

Researchers at the University of Northern BC and Northern Health are looking for high school aged youth (in Grade 8-12) to take part in a photovoice research project - a creative way to use photos and short captions to show what supports youth wellbeing in our community (and what gets in the way).

Got a camera? Got opinions? Show what life is like for youth in the Robson Valley. Participation is completely voluntary.

Columbia Basin Trust is hosting a Home Energy Efficiency workshop on:

Join Howl and the Robson Valley Youth Leadership team tomorrow (Wed, Oct. 14) for a training and volunteer session with Parks Canada caribou biologists!

We will learn to identify and sustainably harvest lichen to support this endangered species, as part of the Caribou reintroduction project in Jasper National Park.

Meet in front of Valemont Secondary School at 1:15 pm on Wednesday after early dismissal. We will be picking lichen in the pine forest behind town until ~3 pm.

When you request an item using your BC Library card, you will be asked to verify your card by entering your card number and your PIN or password.
This is the same PIN or password that you use to order books on the library's website.
If you do not remember your PIN, you can go to https://bvale.bc.catalogue.libraries.coop/eg/opac/login and choose "Forgot Password". Or you can call the library at 250-566-4367 and we can reset it for you.

October is Library Month!
In honour of this, Valemount Public Library is hosting a free screening of the Emmy Award winning documentary "The Librarians" on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6-8pm. Please join us!

We will have free beverages and popcorn for attendees. The movie night will be hosted downstairs at the library. The film is 90 minutes long, so we will have time for discussion afterwards if folks are interested.

Wednesday, October 14 is the date of our next Storytime at the Library! For children aged 0-5 and their caregivers, storytime is a fun program for littles with stories, songs, and some low-key socialising.
In the library from 11:15am - 11:45pm. No registration needed, please drop-in!

2:00pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, is the next appointment date for legal advice with Barrister Jesse Stamm.
If you have a question you need to ask a lawyer, call the library to register! There are 3 sessions available on October 6. Each session is scheduled for 15-minutes.
Hosted in the meeting room in the library, registrants meet with Jesse virtually over Zoom to ask their questions.
The library is an accessible building with lift to the basement and accessible washrooms.
