CATA was created on and is maintained on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples by Two-Spirit, trans and s*x worker experienced community. We organize decolonially and intersectionally, seeking to challenge ourselves to grow politically and in all areas of life; to challenge unaccountable, oppressive, corrupt, violent spaces and ideologies - including our own. The Coalition Against Trans Antagonism (CATA)
A grassroots political community organizing group of people who are two spirit / trans / gender q***r / non binary, Black, Indigenous, people of color, white and s*x work experienced, working class, low income, neurodivergent, disabled and their allies. We are organizing to bring attention, to the issues of TERF and SWERF political ideology infecting the local community through and not limited to, community organizations, non profits, government, businesses, Indigenous groups and people. We center our work from the s*x worker lived experiences of trans women of colour, disabled trans women of colour, trans women and non binary. (as we work decolonially & intersectionally, the usual inequities are kept in check)
Coalition Against Trans Antagonism (CATA)’s work is conducted on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, which include the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations (colonially known as Vancouver, Canada). CATA seeks to work in solidarity with Indigenous peoples’ fight for autonomy and self-determination. (co-founder is two spirited / trans experienced indigenous to turtle island)
