This past May, Vote 16 B.C. had the opportunity to participate in Canada’s first ever national Vote 16 Summit, which was held on parliament hill in Ottawa. Here, our co-leads spoke on the importance of lowering the voting age to 16 and our journey so far.

proposed Bill S-201 in the senate, which would lower the federal voting age to 16!!!

and members have been pushing for support for the bill so that our goal can come into fruition!

📢 This month, Vote16BC wrote to our new premier , and new attorney general .bc — calling on them to pick up where Horgan stalled and ⭐️ lower the voting age! ⭐️

Young people have the most at stake — but the least power to influence political decisions. With huge public support for the change, it’s time for the BC govt to act and make youth a priority.

This is an incredible opportunity for youth who are looking for opportunities to work cooperatively with like minded peers and gain leadership experience.
