On May 31, Consul General Takahashi visited Salt Spring Island in the Gulf Islands, where he delivered remarks at a ceremony for the Japanese Canadian Memorial Story Project. He also met with pre-war residents of the island, including Ms. Mary Kitagawa, a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays, and her family members.
In addition, he attended the unveiling celebration for historical interpretive panels at Heiwa Garden and visited sites of historical significance, including charcoal kilns used before the Second World War and the Japanese Canadian cemetery.
5月31日、髙橋総領事は、ガルフ諸島のソルトスプリング島を訪問し、日系カナダ人のメモリアル・ストーリープロジェクトの式典で挨拶をし、叙勲受章者のメアリー・キタガワ氏の家族をはじめとする戦前の同島在住者と懇談するとともに、平和公園(Heiwa Garden)で行われた歴史解説パネルの披露イベントに参加しました。また、戦前に使用されていた「炭焼き窯」や「日系人墓地」を訪れました。

On June 16th, Consul General Takahashi visited Mr. George Anderson (George Anderson for Nanaimo - Lantzville BC NDP), Parliamentary Secretary for Energy and Climate Solutions of British Columbia. During the meeting, an overview of Japan's energy strategy was provided and a wide range of views were exchanged on the B.C. Hydrogen Strategy and cooperation between Japan and British Columbia in hydrogen-related fields.
6月16日、髙橋総領事は、ジョージ・アンダーソンBC州エネルギー・気候解決省政務官を訪問し、我が国のエネルギー戦略の概要について説明するとともに、BC州の水素戦略ならびに水素関連分野における日本とBC州との協力について広く意見交換しました。
