Explore the dawn of the motor age at the Exit the Horse Exhibit, now on at Bathurst Clark Resource Library!
Learn about the exploits of Canada’s first automotive inventors and tinkerers, the birth of a Canadian auto industry, and the deep roots of motoring realities we take for granted today.
From vigilante justice on the highways, to history’s first snowmobile, to the surprising connection between hockey sticks and steam cars, Exit the Horse is a journey through Canada’s forgotten motoring past.
And be sure to join us for a talk by Ron Foss, grandson of the builder of Canada’s first successful gasoline automobile, built in 1897 in Sherbrooke, Québec, later named the Fossmobile.
