A collective impact - Home Essentials Lending Place (HELP). Items worth $211,000 were distributed to 1266 individuals in one year.
Initially designed to provide furniture and household items to low-income families through the IKEA Vaughan partnership. More partners have joined to expand donation items.
LensCrafters offers prescription glasses. Punjabi Community Health Services, Vaughan Community Health Centre and Community and Home Assistance to Seniors offered off-lease technology (Laptops, Desktops, Phones). Community members provided financial and in-kind donations, and partners offered referrals.
Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ontario Government for funding HELP through the $99,600 SEED grant. We look forward to expanding this project.

Environmental impact - Home Essentials Lending Place (HELP)
HELP has transformed both environmental and social outcomes. Items once destined for landfills—such as used/returned furniture/items—are now repurposed to help low-income families settle comfortably and with dignity. in one year, approximately 70% (38,850 Kilograms) of donated items were reused, significantly reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

In Oct. 2024, Human Endeavour received a Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ontario Government to help provide household items donated by IKEA to refugees and low-income families in York Region, to help ease financial burdens and live with dignity. In 11 months, we served 1514 individuals and distributed 6000 household items. Thanks to OTF and IKEA, the HELP (Home Essentials Lending Place) program is a success and continues to expand.

Human Endeavour participated in multiple outreach events held at Maple High School, .resourcearea Markham Welcome Centre and Teston Village School. These events were organized to inform newcomers about services available around them that they can benefit from. Human Endeavour’s team educated the participants about our projects INFORM and HELP. These projects aim at providing mental health information and settlement services to get essential home items for new comers.
