The Victoria Transit Riders Union is pleased to announce our endorsement of the BC Green Party candidates in this region for the provincial election.

The BC Green platform includes dramatically increasing transit service and providing free transit, starting with youth 25 and under and seniors 65 and over. It also includes many measures that would improve life for poor and working people in other areas.

For those concerned about strategic voting, the situation may not be what you expect in many local ridings.
VoteWell.ca says it is safe to vote for your preferred candidate in the following ridings:
Victoria-Beacon Hill (no BC Conservative candidate)
Victoria-Swan Lake
Saanich South
Esquimalt-Colwood
Langford-Highlands

And that the strategic vote in Saanich North and the Islands is the BC Greens.

In Juan de Fuca-Malahat the strategic vote is the BC NDP.

Read more on their candidate pages:

Saanich North and the Islands - Emily Lowan https://bcgreens.ca/candidates-2026/emily-lowan/

With news of another failed mediation, now more than ever is the time to fight for our transit workers! Join us this Saturday at 520 Gorge Rd. At 1pm to show your solidarity.

Workers will be reinstating an overtime ban starting Monday in their fight for a fair deal with BC Transit. This will likely cause delays and cancellations in routes so drivers can take the time they need to rest and recover. We stand alongside all bus drivers and transit workers in this next step and echo their calls for a fair deal!
