Victoria Dachshund Meet-up Group

10/22/2026

Just a friendly reminder that our Halloweenie event is this Sunday at 1:00 PM! 🎃🐾 We'll be meeting at the Saanichton Corn Maze (7979 Central Saanich Road).

Please note that this is a ticketed event. You can purchase your tickets using the link below, and don't forget to enter the discount code 15OVE to receive 15% off.

I'm sad to say that Tank and I won't be able to make it this year. I've somehow managed to double-book myself with all the fun and spooky activities that October brings! If I'm being honest, these events are probably more for me than Tank these days. 😄

I hope you all have an amazing time! There shouldn't be any issues, but I'll have my phone with me if you need to reach me: 250-857-4370.

Please take lots of photos and share them with me so I can put together a festive post afterward. Also, please remember to respect the venue's rules so we can hopefully continue to enjoy this event in future years.

P.S. If you're up-Island, there's also a Halloweenie walk happening at the same date and time at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. I'll post the event poster in the comments.

Love,
Meg & Tank 🐶🧡

Soo I have a 1.5 yr old weiner dog who barks ferociously at the door whenever someone rings/knocks (he doesn't bite). I always decorate my property (although small because it's a townhouse in a coop), but I'm wondering what candy would be best for leaving out for trick or treaters. We get over 100 kids and I can't spend a lot of $ on candy especially if someone will take the whole bowl.

We're planning on keeping a bowl out specifying to only take one 😬

What's the best candy to spend to keep costs low if someone takes all of it?

How do you keep your crazy weiners sane with someone approaching your door every 5 minutes?

Thank you!!

Hi! My dog sitter is retiring, so I’m looking for someone new who has experience with dachshunds. I’m not traveling until the end of February, but I’d love to find someone ahead of time so we can get to know each other and do a few trial runs before then.

If you have someone you’ve used and would highly recommend, I’d really appreciate the referral!
