Following the fire on Huron Terrace, residents have been safely evacuated and relocated to local hotels, with temporary accommodations, transportation, food and essential supports coordinated through the incredible efforts of emergency responders and community partners.
The outpouring of generosity from our community has been tremendous, and many have asked how they can help.
❤️ How You Can Help
Monetary Donations: Financial donations are the preferred way to help as they provide greater flexibility to respond to the specific and changing needs of those impacted. Donations can be made through the Victim Services Bruce Grey Compassion in Action Fund (see link below) to support those affected by the fire.
Clothing Donations: The Clothes Hamper at 732 Queen Street, Kincardine, is accepting clean, gently used clothing today, Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please do not drop off donations at the Davidson Centre, as donations are being coordinated through the locations identified above.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To our emergency responders, the Canadian Red Cross, Bruce County, Victim Services Bruce Grey, Bruce Power, local hotels, transportation providers, businesses, volunteers and everyone who has offered support - thank you.
Your compassion and generosity are making a meaningful difference for our neighbours during a very difficult time.
While immediate accommodations have been arranged, we know the days ahead will bring continued challenges for those affected. The Municipality and community partners remain committed to coordinating support as needs evolve.
To everyone affected by the fire, our community is here for you. ❤️
