Our Hamlets, Our Future - Have Your Say!

What does the future look like for Busby, Pickardville, and Vimy? We want to hear from the people who know these communities best!

Westlock County is developing a Community Development Plan for each of our three southern hamlets to help guide future growth, land use, infrastructure, and community priorities.

We invite all County residents to visit the Our Hamlets, Our Future project page to learn more about the project and review the What We Heard reports, which summarize feedback shared during our spring community engagements.

Next week there are some follow-up community engagements coming up!

• Vimy: October 27, 2026
• Pickardville: October 28, 2026
• Busby: October 29, 2026

The engagements are 6:00pm - 8:00pm, doors open at 5:30pm.

These sessions are intended for residents of the three hamlets, surrounding landowners, and local businesses to continue the conversation and help shape the future of their communities.

Please be advised that V3 Companies will be completing drainage survey work in Busby, Pickardville, Vimy and Pibroch.

The survey work is being done to help identify existing drainage issues and understand how water is moving through each hamlet.

V3 crews are out in the hamlets on behalf of the County completing ground-based survey work for the Hamlet Drainage Assessment Study. The work may also include some drone-based topographic survey. Their vehicles are marked for identification.

The updated map shows the Roads highlighted in BLUE on the map are the proposed roads for the 2026 Gravel Spread Program.

Completed roads are now highlighted in GREEN.

These roads are subject to change pending on factors such as weather, budget, and timeline.
