Here is what is 'on my mind'. I spoke with a young couple yesterday, recently evicted from a home they had lived in for years, as well as another individual who challenged an eviction (Reno-Viction) but lost. The young couple are now living on a 'forest service road' because they can't afford the rent that WHA would impose on them. As much as RMOW claims to be making advances (mostly with rental units built), there are still many struggling to find affordable housing here - and they are integral members of our community. Please PM about stories you know about - this continues to be a major issue. Did anyone else notice the recent demolition of a 'very.good.home' in White Gold?

My read from the hundreds of voters I’ve talked to: most people don’t love being told they have to vote a certain way to defeat another party who is seen as ‘the enemy’. This isn’t warfare, it’s democracy! People should be able to vote for what they want, and a better future for all of us. The good news is that in West Van-Sea to Sky you can vote with your head and your heart! Despite what you might hear, the numbers here are very clear: the NDP has never been competitive and has finished last in most recent elections. Voters are smart enough to do the math on their own.

The CROW Design Manual for Bicycle Traffic dictates any successful network must reflect the principle of "directness".
It means always offering as direct a route as possible, with detours kept to a minimum; often ensuring a shorter journey than in a car.

Oh my, another 'heat wave' .... serious impacts globally and everything possible that can be done to mitigate the use of GHG - must happen .... regarding outdoor heaters in Whistler; we are an Outdoor Natural Environment resort. 'Toughen up people' ... France imposed restrictions years ago ..... ... in France ... 2021 "As of 31 March, it is now illegal for cafes, bars and restaurants to operate heated outdoor terraces.
In a bid to limit carbon emissions, it is now illegal in France for cafes, restaurants, bars and other establishments to operate heated terraces.
Brought in on 31 March, the ban is part of a raft of decrees brought in to reduce energy consumption and fight climate change. It was one of the ideas recommended by the French Citizen's Convention on Climate, an initiative that asked members of the public for their solutions to the global crisis"

Winter 23/24 .... Truly privileged to be a part of Whistler Adaptive Ski program. Worked with Canadian Invictus hopefuls and looking forward to the Big Event here in 2025
With the amount of cycling commuters and tourists increasing in Whistler; this is what is needed at the major interesections through the valley (Village Gate Blvd and #99: and Lormier Rd and #99 ... and at SpruceGrove and #99 for that matter). Have you or anyone you know 'almost by hit' by a vehicle at these intersections?
